Backus Design | Build was founded in 2004 by J. Steven Backus after a 20+ year successful career with the award winning Anthony Wilder Design Build company in Bethesda, Maryland where he was instrumental in designing and managing the company's high profile projects.

J.Steven Backus is more commonly known as just Steve. In addition to possessing highly recognized design skills, Steve is also gifted with an intensely creative personality. When doing business with Steve you will soon discover his extraordinary ability to muse on complex life and world events. His innate wisdom is endless and is incomparable (or is it incomprehensible?).

PS: Don't let those tools laid out on the blueprints fool you. Steve has never hand drawn a blueprint in his entire lifetime but he does some pretty fancy stuff on his computers.
